The complete, official text of the Declaration of Independence, including the names of the document's 56 signers.
The handout is designed with classroom needs in mind. The text is set in easy-to-read, 11-point type. Lines of text are numbered for easy reference in classroom discussion. A lined section on the right side of the page provides space for the reader to take notes. (These lines use the same spacing as college-ruled notepaper.) The handout is optimized for black-and-white printing and to save printer/photocopier ink/toner to reduce your printing costs.
The document's title as well as country and year of publication are clearly indicated, with page numbers and the document's title on all pages to help students keep the handout organized. Space is provided for students to write their name on their copy in the upper right-hand corner of the first page. Text that is not part of the original document, such as the explanation above the signers' names, is in sans serif type to distinguish it from the document's official text.
