Product Description
This innovative PBL (Project Based Learning) is a fun way to learn about globalization through the products we consume every day. The hook question is: how can fast food companies offer a $1 product with ingredients from all over the world and still make a huge profit? In this PBL, students choose a favorite product (Big Mac, Starbucks mocha latte, Pizza Hut Meat Lover's Pizza, etc) and research the sources of the main ingredients. Once they've gathered their research, they create a visual map to use as they present their findings to the class.

Alternate option: I've used a slightly modified version of this PBL when teaching the Industrial Revolution. This project highlights how deeply the IR changed our world through daily products.
