The Deep Blue Sea: A Book of Colors is another one of our favorites by author Audrey Wood. This book is a fun addition to a unit on colors, oceans, and more, and works well with retelling, sequencing, repetitive growing stories, and other skills. Included in this activity pack are retelling and sequencing pieces for individual students and/or cooperative student groups (one in the form of a craftivity!), writing response journals, and interactive reproducible readers. This activity pack includes four great activities for this book, all of which are already differentiated for various types of students or classrooms, you just choose the ones that meet your classroom (or each student) best!

If you love this book and these activities, please check our TpT store for "The Deep Blue Sea Sequencing and Retelling PowerPoint," a coordinating Powerpoint Show to assist with retelling by sequencing with your class as a whole. This PowerPoint Show is fun to use with children on the computers, classroom TV presenter, SmartBoard, etc., as you retell the story together using the craftivity or sequencing pieces included in "The Deep Blue Sea {retelling, reading, & writing}" activity pack.

Also, if you’re a fan of other books by Audrey Wood, you might also check out “Alphabet Antics and Math Mischief {activities to go with books by Audrey Wood}” in our TpT store!
