PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This worksheet contains several problems that investigate the interpretation of the derivative as the slope of a tangent line:
1. The student is asked to label a graph to help them reconstruct the argument that the derivative at a point represents the slope of the tangent line at that point.
2. The student is asked to determine the sign of the derivative using a graph.
3. The student is asked to rank several values involving a function and its derivative at a point.
4. The student is asked to graph a function, estimate the slope of the tangent at a point, calculate the derivative at a point, and find the equation of the tangent line at that point.
5. The student is asked to calculate the derivative at a point.

This is appropriate for both AP Calculus AB and BC.
