This is a research and presentation project designed for Global Studies classes. The projects provides students with an opportunity to research current global issues and present them to the class.
The project is designed so that students have to work in groups. Two rubrics are included with the project- a group rubric and individual rubric.
The list of topics included in the project are: Obstacles to Development in the Third World, Human Rights Violations, Globalization, Science and Technology from the 1950s to Present, Terrorism and Global Security, Environmentalism, Europe in the Post-Cold War Era, Latin America since the 1950s, Changing Social Patterns, Modern Asia (with an emphasis on China and India), and Modern Africa since World War II.
The project should take up to a week to complete. Students should be given at least 3 class days to work in the library and/or computer lab for research. Presentations should span two classes. Each presentation should last at least five minutes.
