To help prepare my students for the upcoming PARCC exam, I have been reworking all of my assessments to follow the PARCC format. This means going through and analyzing PARCC questions for specific standards, and then matching my own questions on their format.
The assessment has two parts. The first is a reading portion that is entirely multiple choice. I included three excerpts (one from the Drama version, one from the Diary, and one poem by William Blake for a cold read) and have questions pertaining to the different texts. There are also a few questions that rely specifically on the Drama version.
The second portion is a writing prompt where students compare the structure of the drama to the diary. I included rubrics for you to use to ease your grading.
This product includes:
-28-question multiple choice test completely based off of the PARCC format (part A, part B questions)
-Answer key complete with specific standards assessed per question
-Mastery Chart to give students (and you!) an easy visual on which standards they mastered and which they need to work on
-Writing prompt having students compare texts
-Rubric for you to use for easy grading
-Additional copy of PARCC essay rubric with main ideas highlighted to help guide essay
