Everyone has a story but each of our stories is different. Your story is important too.
14 diary writing topics to choose from that mirror those that Anne wrote about.
Connect to The Diary of Anne Frank through an on-going anchor activity that students can work on in a writing center, when they have finished other assignments, or for homework. Students will be asked to observe the people around them and their environment as Anne did. They should take the time to think about the topics and plan out the diary entries carefully.
Topics link to those that Anne wrote about: family, friends, her room, celebrities. etc.
Guidelines are provided for students with connection to Anne Frank's diary and questions for students to think about when writing their responses.
You can add other requirements to make it higher order (i.e.: requiring figurative language examples in each entry).
Sample entry provided.
