In the small sea town of Dushang there lived many sad people. For almost a year there had been a plague of rats. No one knew what to do. The rats were everywhere in houses, shops, schools and even the mosques, synagogues, temples and churches. Finally the governor announces a reward of a thousand pieces of gold to anyone who can get rid of the rats. One day a man arrives dressed in a strange kandora and a strange gutra made of many colors. The stranger plays a tune on his drum and leads the rats out of the town into the sea. When the drummer asks for his reward the governor throws him in jail.
