Are you looking for a quick, engaging activity to celebrate Earth Day with your students? This book extension is short and sweet and gets the job done. When we found the book The Earth Book by Todd Parr, ( get it from Amazon in two days with PRIME) we had to do a quick extension to go with it. We knew the kids would love it. It reads like a true k or 1st grade student would speak. There is a graphic organizer to do whole group or together with their own B/W copy, then a writing activity to follow. The BEST part is the mini-book to take home. You will love it! Color, cut and paste, staple and read to a friend. Just what you need these last weeks of school. There is also a labeling activity, word order/ sentence building, and cute coloring sheets. Check out the preview and the table of contents to see what all we included. Your kids will be making text to self connections as they think about how even little people can help save the earth.
