"The Earth on Turtle's Back" is a traditionally oral story from the Onondaga People. The story can be found in the resource "Keepers of the Earth" found here: https://www.amazon.ca/Keepers-Earth-American-Environmental-Activities/dp/1555913857/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_2/136-3134176-9022856?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=NJVKK8MWR1J15MXFZKRM
The assignments is a very simple worksheet for students to respond to after listening to the reading. I believe since the story was told through oral traditions, we as the teachers must respect that cultural tradition and us too, read the story orally for the students. Students have always enjoyed this story!
