Color is arguably the most personal and important element of fashion. Use this presentation to introduce the element of color in fashion. Topics covered in this presentation include: symbolism of color, color as a design element, color psychology, color terminology (hue, tint, shade, value, intensity), the color wheel (primary, secondary, and tertiary hues), color schemes (monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split complementary, triad, and accented neutral), using colors in apparel, the changeability of colors, creating illusions with color, enhancing personal coloring (undertones), seasonal color analysis (winter, summer, spring, and autumn types). Lots of pictures are included to give examples and increase understanding of the material. A summary and review is included at the end to check for understanding, along with a couple suggested follow up activities.
