This item is a complete lesson for use in teaching conflict in literature. It is designed to function in a classroom utilizing personalized learning. Students will begin by working through a Slides file and using guided notes (in Google Docs) to practice as they learn. Checkpoints are built into the lesson that require students to conference with you, the teacher. The lesson concludes with an activity (which can easily be removed or tailored to the story of your choice) asking students to read and focus on setting in the short story "Fine?" or "Dog of Pompeii." A second Google Doc includes a text dependent analysis prompt and rubric focusing on analysis of conflict in the short story. Again, this Doc can easily be modified or tailored to fit a different short story.
This item will work best in a classroom with access to technology and the Internet.
