This product is aimed at high performing second graders, and standard third and fourth graders. There are 3-5 new words chosen per chapter, and there is space for children to write the definition (in their own words or with teacher/tech assistance).
Each chapter has comprehension questions, how/why questions, and personal response/extension questions in each chapter.
There are many opportunities to draw a scene or an idea.
Because the last two chapters are about kidnapping, they are shorter, as this may be worrisome for small children. I have attempted to ask questions about the 'other parts of that chapter', so it is less worrisome.
At the end, there is a short list of larger project ideas, and a very basic true/false test. (with answer key)
I had my high performing second grader read a chapter a day and complete the corresponding questions.
This is a 30 page packet, with only one page of disclaimer/ad.
