In this lesson, class members read through several paragraphs describing the U.S. government's involvement in environmental conservation in the early 1900s to more recent times. This includes sections entitled:
• Rise of the Conservation Movement
• The Great Depression
• Recent Developments
As they are reading, students need to decide which words in parentheses best complete the sentences. Answers can be written in spaces provided.
Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress. The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
