Pg. 23-24 The Ever-Living Tree Timeline – cut out the tree and the trunk – glue them together- research the historical events in the reading selection – record the dates and write a brief description of the events
Pg. 25-32 Writing and Craft Activity – copy the patterns onto the appropriate colored construction paper – put the tree together and glue it to the right side of an oblong piece of construction paper – choose one of the writing papers – Who Needs a Tree? Or While I Was Growing – you can write about how animals, insects, and people need trees and how they use trees or your can write about a historical events that might have happened as the redwood was growing – attach the writing paper to the left side of the construction paper – see the example
