A note catcher for the hilarious and clever novel.
Students learn 22 morals. (Make it relatable and relevant!)
This resource is used to go along with the reading of The Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary School, by Candace Fleming. The novel is a quick read. It is humorous and has MANY play on words that I often had to stop and discuss with my students.
(e.g. Miss Paige, the librarian = pages in a book)
I used this book as a read aloud. At the end of each chapter, the author says a moral. . Therefore, once we finished reading a chapter we would talk about how we could see the moral being played out in the story, as well as relate it to our own lives.
The resource is meant to be a note catcher. Some students chose to draw a representation of the moral so they may remember it easier. Some students wrote the moral in their own words. This novel went well with teaching my 4th grade grammar and reading standards.
