This is an activity handout that your students can complete while they watch three clips on YouTube. The clips features the events of the Blue Quills School protest, the creation of Nunavut and the Oka Crisis.
The link to the clip is included on the worksheet. Students can watch independently and complete the worksheet or it can be used for whole class viewing.
This was created for a grade 10 Canadian History (CHC2D) using the Ontario Curriculum, but it is appropriate for any grades 7-10 class that is learning about the growth of Indigenous rights in Canada.

In total, the clips run at about 35 minutes. Accounting for answer writing, it should take students approximately 45 minutes to complete this activity.
