Product Description
This resource is a collection of primary sources (quotes, photographs, and a sample factory payroll) related to the fight for unions at the turn of the 20th century. There is a 2 page handout with all 6 primary sources and another worksheet for students to compose a BCR about why workers wanted unions and the factory bosses did not.

I use this resource in my classroom with my high school students by reading/analyzing a few examples of the primary sources together with a discussion to follow and then allow the students to either continue independently or have a discussion with a nearby partner before the students compose their evidence-based BCR independently.
