This resource includes a chart of classroom activities to be done during the first 20 days of school in order to promote collaboration and group work in the classroom. Students will participate in a range of activities that allow the teacher to set up specific and targeted routines that are beneficial during all types of instruction, as well as collaborative and independent learning times.
The chart is color coded to reflect activities that build personal responsibility, respectful discourse, and collaborative problem solving. Activities in this resources are created as a resource and summary of "Engaging the Adolescent Learner," an article written by Doug Fisher and Nancy Frey, on establishing productive group work during the first 20 days of school. If you are implementing the gradual release of responsibility framework in your school or classroom or if you just want to increase collaboration, this tool will be so helpful.
