Here are the first 300 sight words to use in your classroom. When I started teaching, I did not have the space for a huge word wall, so I put them on binder rings (sorted by alphabetical order) and allowed the students to flip through them. I also refer to these words as no excuse words. If students ask me how to spell them, I make them look for them. Once the word is on the wall, there is no excuse for not knowing them. Another idea is to print them on different colored card stock and sort them how you find best for your students.
