The First Day of Winter is a story by Denise Fleming. It’s a similar format as Twelve Days of Christmas. The story unfolds over ten days, as a snowman is dressed up with different items numbering one to ten. It can be sung along to or read as a poem. It would be a great addition to a winter or Christmas theme. Ideal for counting, sequencing, singing, learning ordinals, and number words.
