I created this for my first graders, and wanted to share it with all of you! This includes:
-Contraction Turkey Craftivity- a turkey body template with contraction roots (n't, 'll, and 'm) and feather template. Students write contractions on the feathers and glue them to the turkey body. Also includes a blank turkey body template so you can use it to practice any skill you want! (ex: contraction digraphs, synonyms, rhyming words, verbs, nouns, etc.)
-Pumpkin Pie Sequencing- a writing template for students to list the steps they would use to make a pumpkin pie. This is most adorable when copied on orange paper and garnished with cotton-ball "whipped cream" :)
-How to Catch a Turkey- students write and illustrate the steps they would use to catch a turkey using the prompts first..., next..., and last... Hilarious answers guaranteed!
These worked really well for my first grade team during that short week before Thanksgiving to reinforce some skills in a way that students found engaging and fun. They also made for some really cute hallway displays that parents enjoyed seeing.
