The First Nations of Canada // The Arctic People // Inuit
Easy to teach, incredibly in-depth! Just hit print and go!
This is the sixth of six lessons on The First Nations in Canada. In "The Arctic People" your students will learn about the First Nation Tribes and Aboriginals who settled and lived in the Arctic region located in the most northern areas of Canada and stretching across the country. Tribal groups, languages, houses, social structures, religion, and more are covered in this lesson! Much of the lesson is dedicated to the Aboriginal Inuit culture, but attention is also paid to the lost Dorset people as well as the Innu who inhabit the region today as well.
A worksheet, "While You Read", is provided for students to interact with in order to demonstrate they've read and understood the material taught.
At the end of the lesson students will work through the "Think it Through" assignment section that will push them to integrate the information learned and demonstrate their knowledge using higher level thinking. Vocab work is also provided.
