Product Description
Your students will love reading and illustrating this historically accurate printable book about the first Thanksgiving!

For many years, this has been one of my very favorite activities I work on with my students. While illustrating a special book about the first Thanksgiving, students learn A LOT of nonfiction information. They then present the book at their family Thanksgiving dinner, reading or retelling the story and showing their illustrations. On the last page of the book, family and guests are invited to write comments about the presentation, the presenter, and maybe about something they learned.

After Thanksgiving, students bring their books back to school to share the written comments with their classmates, if they wish. It’s a heartwarming, worthwhile homework assignment! Over the years, I’ve gotten many, many thanks from my students’ parents, saying how the presentation added a very special touch to their Thanksgiving dinner. They planned on saving the book to repeat the presentation for many years to come.
