This 40 slide power point on the 5 Pillars and other beliefs of Islam tries to go where other descriptions of Islamic beliefs have not. I attempt to explain the logic of these beliefs. For example, I'll bet you didn't know that part of the rationale of the Ramadan fasting is to make sure that even the rich know the pangs of hunger, and thus they will more likely give to the poor. Hence these 2 pillars are connected.
I also try to respectfully bring up controversial issues like women's rights, and inflammatory rhetoric.
Lastly, I try to illustrate that Islam, Christianity and Judaism have a lot in common.
If you're interested in a 30 sided text on Islam, which I researched and wrote, then go to my product: "Islam - you'll be surprised." This goes into greater depth than the power point. You can find this by going to my Teachers pay Teachers web site, and then inputting "21st Century Global Studies" in the search bar. You'll find a list of 45 products, including the aforementioned, many of which are about the Middle East. I've used these power points, successfully, with high school students, Freshmen URI students and senior citizens. See my profile to better assess my credibility.
