This is Alice Walker's short story "The Flowers" which works alongside the study of novels like "Of Mice and Men" or "To Kill a Mockingbird" or in its own right. There are ten comprehension questions intended to foster a deeper understanding of the story. These could be used as homework, for a cover lesson or to structure a guided reading session. Of course, the story has immense depth and so these ten questions are merely a starting point. They could be used as pre-reading prior to the story being studied in class.
