Product Description
When a boy from another world falls through a portal to Earth, he learns about the best and worst of Earth's civilization as he searches for the way back to his own planet.

This novel study contains comprehension questions for each chapter of the science fiction book "The Forgotten Door." This book is written at a 4.75 grade level, but is fairly dense and contains mature themes, such as fear, prejudice, and hatred.

A rubric is included that can be used to help students reflect and improve on their written responses to reading. This can easily be changed to meet the needs of your students and the style of your teaching.

For each section of this book, students are asked to create higher-level questions to bring to their book group discussions.

At the end of the comprehension questions, you will find 51 related activities for this book. With hands-on activities, students are encouraged to be engaged thinkers and problem-solvers. These projects can be used for whole group, small groups, and individuals, and are especially helpful in differentiating for diverse learners.

Related Common Core Standards - for reading (literature) and writing - are listed.
