This bundle includes a Powerpoint slideshow that defines and explains the 4 types of sentences: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory. It teaches students to identify the types of sentences and how to punctuate them. Embedded in the presentation are opportunities for students to think, pair, and share. The lesson is followed by 2 interactive quizzes. The first quiz has the students read and identify the 4 types of sentences in multiple-choice format. The second quiz requires students to read and correctly punctuate the types of sentences. As a bonus, response sheets for both quizzes and the answer keys are included in an additional file.
The bundle contains 24 task cards, plus an additional 24 editable task cards for teachers to create their own questions and sentences. Task Cards #1-12 asks students to identify the type of sentence in each card (declarative, imperative, interrogative, exclamatory). Task cards #13-24 asks students to choose the correct punctuation mark for each of 12 sentences. The final 24 task cards are editable versions of task cards #1-24. A student response sheet and teacher answer key are included with this product.
This bundle also includes 2 worksheets and 1 post-assessment. The first worksheet requires students to read and identify sentences as declarative, imperative, interrogative, or exclamatory, as well as write a sentence of each type. The second worksheet asks students to punctuate sentences based on their type in addition to writing sentences with predetermined ending punctuation marks. The post-assessment tests both skills: identifying types of sentences and adding appropriate punctuation marks at the end of sentences. Both worksheets and the post-assessment have answer keys included.
