The Freedmen's Bureau Bill Primary Source Activity
, teaches students about the achievements and the failures of the Freedmen’s Bureau during Reconstruction and the its decline under President Johnson. Using common core analysis of two primary source documents, the Freedmen's Bureau Bill and Black Code laws from Louisiana, students get a deep understanding of the conflict between southern states and the federal government. This can be used in class or as homework as it’s a completely stand alone assignment. This is also perfect for substitute teacher plans, and of course, a key is included.
