Constitution day is September 16th (observed). Celebrate with "The Freedom Painting."
Not only is "The Freedom Painting" an excellent visual aid for the First Amendment, it provides a beautiful representation of Diversity in America. After all, the constitution is for ALL the people.
While the lesson plans, worksheets and vocabulary are probably best suited for the middle grades, all ages will engage with great discussions about the painting, its people and its symbolism.
This is a full program designed around "The Freedom Painting" This digital version contains 16 files which include 2 PDF files of the painting for projection, 2 lesson plans with PowerPoint presentations, vocabulary as well as additional worksheets. One lesson plan is designed around Diversity and the other is about the First Amendment. All five freedoms from the First Amendment are visualized in the painting. A 27" x 39" printed poster version of this program is also available which also includes all downloadable files.
