This series of lessons scaffolds the writing process while making writing fun and interesting.
Begin by modeling the sample paragraph ("The Furry Menace") about giant hamsters.
Then guide students through the steps of the writing process using the provided graphic organizer, paragraph scaffold, and editing rubric. When students are ready for the publishing phase of the process, be sure to have them share their paragraphs with the class!
These activities follow the I do-we do- you do model and are suitable for middle school students or for high school students in need of intervention. This writing process lesson should take 2 to 3 class periods to complete.
