Description
How do scientists know how much groundwater is stored in aquifers? Students will read an article about the GRACE satellites and learn how underground reservoirs affect gravitational pull. The GRACE satellites are used to track water depletion, ocean currents, melting glaciers, and overall variations of mass within the earth. This article can be used during an astronomy or groundwater unit.
Included in your download are two versions of the article- lexile 1010 and lexile 810 for lower level readers. Each version of the article is 2 pages along with comprehension questions and an answer key.
