PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity guides high school students through a writing exercise, using primary source maps from the Library of Congress, to determine whether the geography of the land surrounding Gettysburg caused the battle to happen in that particular place and whether other battles in the Civil War occurred at their locales because of geography and man-made features such as railroads. This exercise could easily be made into a research project.
