Students will first be asked to watch several videos about the famous speech that Lincoln gave at the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery. An article with a historical accounting of the speech as well as people's various reactions to it is also required reading before beginning the webquest. Several sections of the Gettysburg Address are also included in this webquest that students must analyze and interpret. Students will learn about the importance this speech had on American history, and how it transformed the American Civil War into a crusade for human equality.

This webquest can be easily used as an introduction to the topic, a study guide, or a quick and easy sub plan.
