This book is a great addition to your gingerbread man unit. This book focuses on comparative language (greater than, less than, equal to). Students need to count the number of gingerbread men on each side, write the numbers in the box, and draw the comparative symbol in the middle. It also comes with pictures that students can cut out and glue instead of drawing the comparative symbols. It is a great idea to always have students read their comparative sentence from left to right. For example, 2 is less than 5. There is a page in the book at the beginning that reviews the comparative language with the students and shows them what each symbol looks like.
