This is a great idea for teaching about settings of stories.
Print the cover page for your class book.
Each student creates his/her own page with a setting
for their gingerbread man. They may use a program
like Kid Pix and use the background button to fill in a
a setting for their gingerbread man. My class used
backgrounds of famous places. Then, they either drew
a gingerbread man with Kid Pix or you may give them
a die cut gingerbread man to decorate and glue onto
their setting. The children love looking through this
book of settings over and over. (If you don't have a computer or a die cut machine, just let your students illustrate a setting and a gingerbread man with crayons, paints, or markers.)
