The Giver by Lois Lowry is a standards-based low prep novel study that engages your students in lots of critical thinking. It is a dystopian science fiction book and Newbery Award winner that tackles themes like independence, free choice, and individuality.

There are chapter comprehension questions, vocabulary, and multiple graphic organizers to support text analysis as well as engaging literacy activities to enhance the novel study. Use the materials as a whole group, in reading groups, or with book clubs.
