Includes: 2 warm-up slides, project choice board, grading rubric, self-scoring sheet, 2 handouts that go along with the choice board projects, and a vocabulary activity.
This is a choice board I made for the Giving Tree. It gives students a choice of 9 projects/assignments they can choose to complete to show their understanding of the book. Three of the choices are longer, more involved assignments. The other six are shorter and more creative. You can have students choose one from the top row and one from the bottom two rows if needed. If students finish early, they can work on another choice from their board.
The PowerPoint (which you can print out as handouts) also includes a grading rubric, self-scoring sheet, handouts that go with two of the projects, and a vocabulary game.
Vocabulary game rules: Students each get a vocabulary board. If a classmate can tell them what a vocabulary word or phrase means on their board, they get to have them sign their board. Teachers can check for understanding afterwards.
I used these materials with upper elementary students, as well as middle school ESL students. Students love the opportunity to choose how they show their understanding! ENJOY!
