This novel is an excellent cross-curricular resource for teaching the French and Indian War and the history of the state of New York. It deals with the tension arising between the French and the English during the time of Fort Niagara.
My study guide emphasizes comprehension and writing. The skills addressed are remembering facts, getting the main ideas, drawing conclusions, sequencing, cause and effect, and fact and opinion. The students have the opportunity to create their own objective test, retell an event, write a narrative, write conversation, write a diary entry, summarize, and convert main ideas into a comic strip. There are questions for every chapter and a vocabulary list including page numbers. Please rate this resource. Thanks so much. Ellen Gabor http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Einstein1
