Use this WebQuest as a culminating activity for a study of John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath." The WebQuest comes with assessments, and six possible tasks: Censorship, Musician, Journalist, Migrant Worker Today, Historian, Economist (the Economist role should only be used if students have a basic understanding of Economics).
This resource will appeal to a wide range of interests: Students can analyze versions of "The Ghost of Tom Joad," read journalistic pieces written by John Steinbeck, listen to songs composed by dispossessed men and women during the depression, or draw connections between Steinbeck's novel and the plight of migrant workers today.
