This document presents thought-provoking questions which I use in my class' discussion forum. (I use Google+). As the students read, I post provocative questions which encourage thought, debate and discussion. Some questions ask basic questions to check for understanding, but most of these questions ask students to evaluate, analyze and synthesize.
The questions are organized by chapter. This document is easy to manipulate: Use questions you feel are appropriate and omit the ones you consider too difficult. This document allows you to scaffold your questioning.
You don't have to use them as discussion forum questions. You can use them for small-group or large-group discussion, as daily journal topics, or as quizzes or tests. You could use them as essay questions, too.
Note that there are over 50 questions in this document.
