The Great Candy Corn Race is a great holiday-themed game for 2-4 players that helps students practice reading short and long i words. Students will love getting to choose a candy corn character for their game piece as they race around and around the game board reading long and short i words and looking for words in their hands with the same vowel sound and pattern. This is a great activity to use during centers, guided reading, word work, Daily Five, etc. It also fits in well with the Words Their Way program and is ideal for students in the within-word-pattern stage of spelling.
