An informational text activity with comprehension and grammar questions about The Great Depression of the late 1920s and early 1930s.
The activity is a close reading activity and is ideal for students learning about the Great Depression or the lead up to World War 2 between the ages of 9-13.
Each worksheet requires NO PREP and has a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers.
Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of the document.
Time allowance ( one hour)
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers together.
If you would like your students to take a more detailed look at the Great Depression then take a look at our Great Depression Informational Text Writing Unit - it has three individual lessons for just $3.00.
If you liked the activity book, I also have a Non-Fiction Collection - 5th & 6th Grade Close Reading Book containing ten activities, all for just $4.50.
We also have a World War II Informational Text Collection, which is also 10 activities that timeline the war, again just for $4.50.
