Great Depression
Group Activity
Roosevelt

This group activity is designed to have students work together to research the Great Depression in order to better understand its impact on different groups of people in the US during the 1930s. The students will be assigned a group to research and they will make a newsreel broadcast that their can either perform live in front of the class or film and present the digital version to the class.

You may want to let students choose their own groups or assign them beforehand.

The lesson is organized on Microsoft Word and on a Power Point presentation that can be easily modified to better serve your needs.
