This discussion activity is all about stepping into the perspective of characters in F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous novel, The Great Gatsby. Student won't just get to read about Myrtle, Daisy, Tom, and Gatsby, they will get to be them for a class period!
Students will come to class ready to play a part (or parts) or interview characters from the novel with questions they generate themselves.
This activity works best once students have reached the end of the novel, but could be used sometime in the middle of your novel reading with some modifications. Role-playing will not only be a fun activity for your students, but a good assessment of students' understanding of the novel as well.
This bundle includes the activity handout, proficiency rubric, review slide that sets the expectations for the discussion, and name tags for characters. All of this is compressed in a zip file. Here's a quick link for help if you're not sure how to open it: http://www.wikihow.com/Open-a-.Zip-File-Without-Winzip
