This test is in 5 parts and follows the tiers of Bloom's Taxonomy. There is a quote identification section for Part I. Part II is an analysis section where students must explain the meaning behind one of the most famous quotes in the novel. Part III asks students to apply lessons learned from events in the novel. Part IV requires students to compare and contrast characters in the novel. The final part, Part V, is an essay question in which they are required to create and support an argument with textual evidence based on a quote from a literary critic.
There is also a vocabulary element to the test that can easily be removed if not needed.
I have used this quite successfully in my Honors English 11 classes, but it can be easily modified to fit any level.
