These activities are a great way to encourage students' appreciation of Fitzgerald's lyrical diction and use of figurative language.
Directions require students to
---find and copy/paste a page from the novel,
---underline illustrative words and phrases,
---create a topic or theme,
---then compose a poem using Fitzgerald's great words.

-----brief explanation of the poem, and a
I've also included another found poem where words have been blackened out leaving a poetic statement.
-----Extra credit encourages students to do the same with a page that is included in their packet.
I've included 41 passages (minimized) that you can enlarge so that each student has a different passage.
