Students create a working map of New York based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's descriptions. Adapted lesson where students have to find descriptions of places, include MLA citations and draw them on a map. Project can be done after reading chapters 4-5 so it's a a good mid-book activity. Students can work alone on map places or add characters and symbols if working in pairs. This takes at least two full class days of in-class work. I've included several excellent student examples.
