This is a final test on the book The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald. I used this test for my English II Pre-AP class, but this test could be used for any grade reading the novel. The test could be used for the entire class or to assess students reading the book individually. The test includes 10 matching questions, 5 quotes where the student must name who said it, 5 events to put in order, and two short answer questions. Feel free to change what you need to in order for this to work for your class. An answer key is provided for the first 3 sections (all, but the short answers). I worked very hard to make this assessment fair if you read the book and almost impossible if you did not. I read the book, watched the Baz Luhrman 2013 movie, and made the assessment all in the same day. Students should not be able to pass the assessment from the movie alone. For higher grades, the essay questions can easily be made longer to be more applicable.
