In this lesson, students will read The Great Kapok tree and determine the author's viewpoint. They will then decide their own viewpoint and compare it. They will do this through discussion questions broken down by reading level (low, medium, high) so that each of them can actively participate. As an assessment, they will fill in a paragraph outlining the author's viewpoint, evidence that tells how they know, and their own viewpoint. Student worksheets and teacher lesson plan with answers included.
